Standard Australian Shepards

We are a small farm in southwest Virginia.  Australian Shepard's stole our hearts and we want to bring that love to your home.   Our dogs and puppies are raised with children and other animals. Tails are docked.    They are wormed every 2 weeks until they leave at 8 weeks.  1st shots are given at 6 weeks.  They are inside until they are 4 weeks of age.  At, 4 weeks, they spend time outside.

Male- 20-23 inches

Female- 18-21 inches

Male- 50-65lbs

Females- 40-55lbs

Life expectancy is 12-15 years.

General 

Aussies are active yet easy-going dogs that love to run with children. They tend to get along well with other pets. They  are considered highly intelligent and easy to train. Aussies are known for being especially eager to please their owners.  Eventhough, they are easy going, Aussies need lots of exercise and mental stimulation.   They can be quite destructive if they get bored.  

Aussies are very protective of their families and terrritory and will let you know if strangers approach, but they are not considered aggressive.

Coat and Color

Aussies have a medium-length coat that is straight or slightly wavy. They have feathering on the back of the legs and a thick mane around the neck. Coat colors vary and might be blue or red merle or red or black tricolor, all with white and/or tan markings. Most Aussies have a docked tails.
